Building TriviaFall

First posted 17 July 2026. Updated 10 September 2026.

I'm building TriviaFall around a simple idea: pick a topic you enjoy and play a short match. QuizUp is a big part of the inspiration. I want the topics and the questions to be the reason you come back.

Starting small

The main mode is a seven-question match. You play against a recorded run or a practice bot, with a label explaining which it is. There's also Solo for a timed round and Free Flow if you'd rather take your time.

I'm keeping the focus on that for now. Live multiplayer and private rooms are later work.

The questions need work

Writing a lot of questions is only the start. Each one needs a clear answer, sensible wrong choices and a source that backs it up. Reviewers can edit a question, approve it, send it back or flag it for another look.

Approval doesn't put a question straight into the game. There's a separate publication step, and each topic needs enough reviewed questions before it opens.

September update

The website, browser app and review desk are now online. The first batch of questions is in the review queue. None are published yet, so the app's topics are still waiting for content.

Next comes the review work and more testing of the game. I want to see how the questions feel in a match before adding more features.

Want to try it?

You can open the browser app now, though matches will need to wait for reviewed questions. If you're interested in testing on Android, send a beta enquiry.
